How does KeywordLuv work

Many people know about blog commenting as a way to build backlinks – not many know that on some blogs it even gets better. I am talking about KeywordLuv blogs. They are the SEO-guy’s dream come true. A KeywordLuv blog gives you free backlinks with keywords that you can choose freely!

But what is a Keywordluv blog and how does it work?
There is a WordPress plugin called KeywordLuv and it’s purpose is to let you choose your keywords for your link anchor freely. There are more and more blogs on the WWW that have KeywordLuv installed.

How does it work, what do you have to do to benefit from KeywordLuv blogs?
All you have to do is comment on a KeywordLuv blog and in the field for your name use the following syntax: name@keywords.
An easy example: Mike@find dofollow blogs
This will show your name in the comment and then a link to your website with your chosen keywords as anchor text. That means it will be translated to
Mike from find dofollow blogs
Notice that it has built a link to my homepage with “find dofollow blogs” as anchor text.

Do you need to install KeywordLuv to benefit from it?
No – you just have to find blogs which have it installed already. But if you want to get more comments on your blog, it might be a good idea to install it on your own blog, too.
You can find the Plugin and a very good explanation here: KeywordLuv Plugin on Steven Cronin’s blog

And if you wonder how to find KeyowordLuv blogs, you might already have guessed… If you use the blogsearch on www.seo-traffic-guide.de, you will get a list of KeywordLuv-Blogs as well.

But the shortest way to a KeywordLuv blog is actually down this page…
www.seo-traffic-guide.de is a KeywordLuv blog, too. You can use the KeywordLuv option on my blog, too, just tell me what you think about this article right now…

Shoot, wish I’d found this before! I had to ask a work colleague what keywordluv was and felt so stupid. Plus, your explanation is so much better than his was! Thanks for adding it though, it’s nice to see people’s names instead of just keywords.

Stacie, your so right about seeing people names on the comments. It just adds a little to the blog instead of just people placing keywords.

P.s. to the author, the article was informative and I am looking forward to working through your links.

      Regards

I have worked in both web design and SEO for a number of years and the keywordluv tool is one of the best free tools for bloggers and webmsters.

KeywordLuv is a great plugin for internet marketing to build pagerank. Unfortunately too many people abused it by posting spam comments just to get backlinks with no benefit to blog owners. That is why many blogs nowadays have the nofollow tag turn on, making the backlinks not counted by Google. So please post relevant comments to make it worthwhile to the blog owner to make your backlinks counted.

KeywordLuv is very helpful. One suggestion I like to share, If you would like to find dofollow blogs, Type this in Google – Real Estate Enter “YourName@YourKeywords in the Name field to take advantage”. Keep the quotes as it is. Instead of real estate you type the niche for which you would like to find dofollow blogs. And there you go, just post a nice comments.

Let me know your feedback Michael!

    Love and Peace,
    Manisha Patel

      Hi Manisha

Thanks for your contribution – this search query will surely find lot’s of KeywordLuv blogs and the chances are very high that those will also be DoFollow blogs, but don’t take for granted. Keywordluv does not automatically mean dofollow, in fact the Keywordluv author explicitely states that you should install a dofollow plugin as it is not contained in keywordluv. Unfortunately some people tend to forget that step…

Big ups for installing Keywordluv on your site! Many people think that it will only attract spammers to your blog, but my experience learns that it encourages your visitors to add interesting, quality comments to your site that are interesting to all of your readers.

although my comment may be too late, i would add that keywordluv considers a new way for making a relationship between the site owner and his visitors, they will become friends because they can put their keywords, thanks a lot for sharing this with us.

      Hi
I would go as far as call all my commenters friends and I am pretty sure some of them don’t even remember me after a year – not really what I call friendship:-)
But you are right, it is a better relationship than on many other blogs, and Keywordluv helps a lot …

Awesome. I was unaware of KeywordLuv until just recently, and have found many relevant blogs to leave comments. It’s definitely a great strategy for SEO, and an easy way to get links. Anyway, thanks for the post! I think I’m also going to install it on my blog :) Cheers.

I have manually searched for those sites that uses the KeywordLuv to promote back links, and I find your link very helpful. Thanks for sharing the link where I can download the plug in too. I really want to have it on my site to attract more readers and commentators and I thank you very much for that.

Hmm so according to this article keywordluv is super beneficial, therefore this will be my test run to see if it works. The idea alone is quite interesting, a way for blog owners to share their power with others via backlinking. I would think most wouldn’t be so kind as to use keywordluv, maybe that will change in the near future.

I agree that it is very useful to for site rank. it is a nice way to say Thank you and that is appreciated.

Keywordluv is indeed one of the best plugins I’ve ever come across. It forges a “give and take” relationship (if we can call it that …) between the blogger and the commenter.

  16. Brandon from Brainerd Real Estate (1 comments)

I do love KeywordLuv, but I am afraid that Google may outlaw it soon. Considering that Google rankings are hugely about organic backlinks and it is obvious that this plugin was made to help people backlink, Google may not count KeywordLuv comments soon. =/ Just my theory though!

Thank you for offering dofollow and KWL!

Hey Michael definetly a great explanation of how this plugin “Keyword Luv” works. I was contemplating using the plugin on my blog but was hesitant due to the amount of spam that would probably show up.
I think I should re-think it as I know visitor interaction on your site is important for SEO as well.
ps. I’m hoping Brandon isn’t correct with his theory about Google banding it soon but it wouldn’t be a huge shock if they did. Their famous for throwing wrenches in to the wheels and bringing everything to screaming halt.

I think it makes sense to call it “Keyword Luv”… after all, that’s what it’s doing; enabling people to promote their websites/blogs while at the same time leaving meaningful comments (as opposed to being anonymous spammers, boo).

It is always encouraging to see sites that have installed KeywordLuv plugins. I know many people are concerned about spammers, but if you have an active site moderator who reads comments for context prior to publishing, this overcomes any real disincentive on the part of the site owner for allowing KeyWordLuv.

Since your blog has the Keyword Luv plugin it makes it all the more better than other blogs. Especially since you actually try replying to our comments. That shows you really care. Thanks again for installing Keyword Luv in your blog. I’m sure you have to clean up a lot of spam daily.

Thanks for this tips, but not all the sites that use keywordLuv are dofollow, I found many that are nofollow too.

    1. Michael Busch (415 comments)

Yes that is true, quite a few webmasters forget that installing KeywordLuv is not enough and you need to install one of the many dofollow plugins as well. This also is the reason why I kept a dofollow column in the Keywordluv result list, so you can use the autofilter feature to find only Keywordluv blogs that are dofollow…
