Many people know about blog commenting as a way to build backlinks – not many know that on some blogs it even gets better. I am talking about KeywordLuv blogs. They are the SEO-guy’s dream come true. A KeywordLuv blog gives you free backlinks with keywords that you can choose freely!
But what is a Keywordluv blog and how does it work?
There is a WordPress plugin called KeywordLuv and it’s purpose is to let you choose your keywords for your link anchor freely. There are more and more blogs on the WWW that have KeywordLuv installed.
How does it work, what do you have to do to benefit from KeywordLuv blogs?
All you have to do is comment on a KeywordLuv blog and in the field for your name use the following syntax: name@keywords.
An easy example: Mike@find dofollow blogs
This will show your name in the comment and then a link to your website with your chosen keywords as anchor text. That means it will be translated to
Mike from find dofollow blogs
Notice that it has built a link to my homepage with “find dofollow blogs” as anchor text.
Do you need to install KeywordLuv to benefit from it?
No – you just have to find blogs which have it installed already. But if you want to get more comments on your blog, it might be a good idea to install it on your own blog, too.

I have just started to use keywordLuv on my wordpress sites as I have read many reviews mentioning the benefits of this fantastic plugin. I am surprised that some people are hestitant to use it inspite of seeing how it does help the site to get fresh content regularly for your site and a thing that makes Google come back more regularly. KeywordLuv is in fact a plug-in that is beneficial to the blogger who activates it as well as to his or her commenting visitors. It creates a true backlinks to the sites.
I maybe blind here, but is there the same thing but for Joomla?? keywordluv is a fantastic incentive for people to come to your blog.

The article is a nice and concise explanation about how the keywordluve works. In my commentator experience, I’m not finding too much spam on blogs using this plugin. I heard that there is an additional device to detect fake comments.

Keyword luv is my favorite plugin. Rewarding commentator with backlink is the most effective tool to get big traffic to your site. As long as no one use it for spamming, it will give benefits for both commentator and blog owner.

Agreed that KeywordLuv and CommentLuv are a good addition to blogs just be aware that they will attract spammers and a lot of them. If you have the time to filter these out as you go then you’ll find the plugins excellent. Many won’t use because them being a spam magnet.
Keyword luv and comment luv is really good. The idea is great, although it is abused by many.
And for that reason I think G slightly devalues links from comment luv/keyword luv websites. Does anyone else think that?

This is quite an intersting concept, but wouldn’t it require a quite active moderation of blog comments? Which can be done for most blogs (there aren’t that many comments usually) but it would hamper discussion a bit wouldn’t it? As you don’t get a quick twoway communication?
The alternative I would assume is to be run down buy spammers, as this is the perfect tool?
KeywordLuv is awesome….the only bad thing about it is that it will drain your pagerank, which really doesn’t affect the keyword authority of a blog anyway

What does Luv actually stand for? Anybody knows?
As a backlinker newbie, I obviously ask the question how long does it take until the backlink is in place, or in other words, is recognized by Google and Co?

-> This depends on whether the blog is moderated and when if at all the blog owner approves your comment. This can be just a moment if he is online or might take a few days, there is no general rule.
When is it recognized by google?
-> The next time google crawls the page where the comment is on.
As a general rule sites with higher PR tend to be crawled more often. So if you are trying to get backlinks to get a new site indexed, it is a good idea to get links from high PR sites.
It is tempting to believe that only dofollow links from high PR sites are good links, but you should have a look over here to see why this is not true: About link text variety

I also use this on my blog. It gets allot of comments. I also stipulate on my blog that it should be more than “Nice Site”. That way you have better comments.

Your post is really interesting. Search Engine Optimization has much more to do with links. And lately I have known that keywordluv is really a great way to get links.
the more i read, the more i realise i have much to learn… i would go for the linkbuilding. in my experience can make up to 80% of the whole seo process…

You are right – as soon as you know which keywords to go after. In my eyes proper analytic is even more important because there is the danger that you waste a lot of effort if you try to go after keywords you will never have a chance to rank for or if you go after keywords that do not have sufficient search volume…

I have been using keywordluv on my site and unfortunately have found that many of the comments really have nothing to do the site and are strictly to get a backlink. In many cases the comments don’t even make sense. Although I am new to keyword luv I do intend to give it some more time.

Talking about coments that don’t make sense, I’ve had comments that were nothing but a bunch of gibberish with obvious links in them but it doesn’t even look like a language like Polish or Spanish. I can’t understand how these kinds of posts would ever get approved so I have to wonder who is doing all that work for nothing! Color me confused!
