Where do you take that wisdom from? I still use 3 way links (o.k. not solely, but mainly) with great success. Of course it is a good idea to have variation in your link profile, but I would go as far as to call 3waylinks worthless or of little value…

Yes that is true, quite a few webmasters forget that installing KeywordLuv is not enough and you need to install one of the many dofollow plugins as well. This also is the reason why I kept a dofollow column in the Keywordluv result list, so you can use the autofilter feature to find only Keywordluv blogs that are dofollow…

I’m finding SEO fascinating and overwhelming at the same time. Just when I find a method that I need to focus on, I get distracted by the next up and coming method, not product, I’m talking method here, i.e., article writing, which carries a lot of juice as you all know. I have 20 sites and everyday I get less and less motivated, about 5 or 6 on page 1 and 2 but little traffic. I know I need to get more content, and that is where I know article marketing works. I’m trying to stay away from outsourcing for a while, but I just can’t get it together. I need a swift kick!

Maybe another way to determine whether a link is a good link:
Does the link look natural, i.e. does it look like the owner of the website would have given it in this manner to recommend your site. If it does, it is a good link, no matter which general topic the other site has or what pagerank the page from where the link is given has…

The list is just the complete list of blogs found, but you can filter it to show only dofollow blogs. Whether there are more nofollow or dofollow blogs in the list depends just on whether google finds more dofollow or nofollow blogs for the given keyword…

I build my links through blog comments as well. I used to do normal blogs but my comments would no get approved. The reason I’m sure was probably because my name was nothing but my keywords. So now I’m searching for blogs that allow keywords so my comments can actually be approved.

I operate a small web design service in Miami and I decided to engage in my own SEO tactics. As I learn more and more every day I have come to understand that intuition has a great role in SEO because search engines are on a constant change. Also; Matt Cuzz receives a large number of highly technical questions which in return he respond with a simple answer; write good content and your will generate traffic, when in reality we all know that content along will not do it. 3 way links don’t work. This tactic may have used to work but it no longer does. Google are clever enough to see where your links are coming from.

You need a varied link profile. Link exchanges/3 way links will not damage your site unless in excess but they will also not provide much value either. You should only link when it’s valuable to the user and not just to get a link from a partner site.

Basically you got it – this would work if your link was appropriate to the page you are commenting on.
It was to a site that had nothing to do with the content of my page – most webmasters would just delete your comment for that.
Had you looked around on my site a little bit more you would have found the cartoon page which is much more on topic for your site.
If you had commented there and had shown a little bit more creativity in comment as why there was a need for a link in the comment instead of just using KeywordLuv, I would have left your URL in the comment.
But as you are new and now have a list of blogs, there is plenty of time to practice

Wow, this is a company with progressive thinking to encourage backlinks for a discount. Who wouldn’t take up that offer?

That said, I have seen quite a few companies give a “cashback offer” if you fill in a form and send it back to the company following your purchase. In my experience, they rarely come back to you so you find yourself avoiding factoring in the cashback offer in the price when making your purchasing decision the next time.

Hopefully the backlink offer is one with good follow through to avoid disenfrancised customers.

It is always encouraging to see sites that have installed KeywordLuv plugins. The problem is that with the new search I had to use after the old API was shut down I get a lot more results that are really fresh – and that often means they do not have PR yet.
If you do the same search once a month you should be able to see a change in PR …

The people telling you about duplicate content are right in one regard: your articles will not rank on all the different article sites. so the chance that your article will spread from other sites than the one it might rank on are less. This does not mean that the backlinks you gain from the other article direcories don’t count anymore! You can still build valuable links when you post to more article directories. One more idea: Use a software like “The Best Spinner” to get a whole bunch of non-duplicate versions of your articles in just minutes – this makes article marketing a lot more effective and makes sure you don’t have to worry about duplicate content when using Mass Article Control or similar software.
But even without it I’d recommend posting to more article directories…

I’ve been doing article submission for a while now. I only post my articles to one article submission site since I’ve read somewhere that posting to multiple sites is kind of a waste of time since other sites will recognize it at duplicate content and won’t index the article. However, in your review for Mass Article Control you say “submitting it to as many directories as possible”

I don’t write many articles, only about 3-5 a month, do you think I’d still benefit from an article submission software?

I am not sure whether I understand you right. A link usually cannot be indexed, a page with a link on it can, and a link can be counted into the ranking algorithm. I suspect what you mean is that the links you created are not shown when you do a link:mysite.com command on google?
This is a common thing as google simple does not show all links they know about. You can watch a good interview with Matt Cutts on that topic over here:

There is a little more data shown within your google webmasters account but this data is not the complete picture, too…

I was easily able to get this working on 4 sites and then I have not been able to add another site since. I keep getting 404 error page not found when the page is clearly found. It work so well the first few times and now over three hours and I can’t not get any sites verified does this plugin not work with the new wordpress update. Any help would be great as I am ready to throw my PC out a window.

Personally I do not care about PR much at all, it is important that your link comes from an indexed page and that’s it more or less. You cannot rely on the little gadget green bar that is supposed to tell you the PR of a page. In one interview Matt Cutts once even admitted that google might show arbitrary values there…
Concentrate on content and links and you’ll be fine…

This tool is by far the best one that I have seen. Otherwise I use FF plugin to find dofollow blogs and it was really time consuming.

I once started to write a plugin for dirlinks, too, but never found the time to finish it…
So I fear you’ll have to follow the manual installation process… (create a folder for dirlinks, copy the files from dirlinks into it, link it from the home page, etc.) alternatively I can offer to install it for you for a small fee (see Paid Install for 3waylinks for more info)
