how to search on google

Most people use search engines to find the information on internet, Google is the most widely used search engine, but do you know if you use some tips you can get your desired information much quicker and easier? Google is not case sensitive. It doesn’t matter whether you type your search words in capital letters or lower case. It’s easiest just to type everything in lower case. You should use few but targeted keywords it will reduce search results, if you want to search for exact phrase then type it in quotation marks, you can do a title search on google, in the search google will search only those pages which’s title match your words, the word or phrase that must appear in the title of the web page. Here’s an example:

intitle:”abraham lincoln”, notice as you are reading your search results that quite a few of the sites listed are selling books on Abraham Lincoln and you don’t want to buy a book. How can you remove those from your search results? You can exclude any page that contains a particular word or phrase by placing a minus sign directly in front of that word or phrase, for example:

-price

would exclude all web sites that contain the word price, and it turns out that many of the sites selling books are excluded this way. All right, let’s put it all together and see what our final query would look like.

intitle:”abraham lincoln” born -price

The query above would find all web pages that have the name Abraham Lincoln in their title and the word born anywhere on the web page, and any web page that contains the word price is not include, Google gives highest priority to the first words that you type in the search box, and a lower priority to the words that are typed afterwards.

Every time you do a Google search, an I’m feeling lucky button is displayed along with the search results. If you click on this button, your browser will immediately take you to the web site of the highest ranked result that Google found.

    1. Hi Maja

Are you talking about the blog search here on seo-traffic-guide.de or are you talking about a google query?
If you are talking about the search here you are thinking too complicated – you just enter your keyword (e.g. fashion) and the search will come up with related blogs, sorted by dofollow or nofollow + a little bit of bonus info…
You can repeat that with as many keywords as you like.
If you enter your search in google there will most probably also pop up something that has do do with do follow lists…

  8. I wonder how the Quotation Marks will help in getting the searched information more easily than by just searching without these quotation marks. But whatever may it be. I liked the concept and if it really works well then searching over the internet would become more easy and interesting for all of us. But I think not much of the internet and Google users are aware of it.

  9. Searching on Google is now made easy. Google has so many of the tips and tricks which will help you to gain access to all the information without wasting much of your time searching for it. The funda of applying double quotes before searching for a particular word is amazing. At least now I will be able to browse quickly through various products in the e-commerce market.

  10. I have never seen Google not responding to the user’s request. The issues that I have generally seen why Google takes a lot of time to show the results are because of the slow speed of internet or may be that you have entered the wrong keywords for getting an access over the correct search results. But also I think this tip of Google will help in giving faster results comparatively.

  11. Das ist eine interessante Information, die wenigsten werden diese Suchmöglichkeiten kennen oder nutzen. Bis man sowas braucht, hat man wieder vergesssen, wie es geht.
Das Internet mit all seinen Möglichkeiten ist so vielseitig geworden. Facebook wird von Millionen genutzt und nun macht Google mit seinen Google+ wieder was neues auf.
Die Google-Suche hat das Netz erobert und wird die Suche weiter dominieren.

  12. I agree with this post. A lot of people have forgotten or just plain doesn’t know certain online search techniques like the one you shared and event the Boolean search.

  13. There are many things like this I guess. My friend used to type something like this and without knowing its importance I just moved away from him. Thats a great information and I can narrow my search results and be more specific. I think this will be more faster too.

  14. Well, I believe that even tech savvy users of the internet doesn’t use quotations and particular queries. Not even myself. But I do use them in finding blogs to comment on. Or use dropmylink to do it fast.

  15. Excellent suggestions about a Google parameter I’d not heard of. The idea of also excluding price is also good. But can you get the same result by having it exclude “$”, or is that symbol meaningful to Google?

    1. Hi Leo

You can both search for the dollar sign $ on google and you can except it with -$.
